We're excited to share Part 1 and Part 2 of the League of Women Voters of the Tennessee Valley's 19th Amendment Centennial project.
Part 1 covers the period 1848-1920
Part 2 covers 1920 until the present.
They were developed by the LWVTNV Historical Education Committee and reflect our theme of "The Struggle to Vote: The Nation , Alabama, and the South, 1848 to Present". We are commemorating the Centennial of the 19th Amendment which gave women the right to vote while acknowledging the ongoing struggle to vote.
Due to the pandemic we have to find alternative ways to communicate and celebrate the 19th Amendment and acknowledge the ongoing struggle to vote in Alabama.
